Quality Toys for Your Little One

If you are looking for quality, made in America toys for your little one for birthday’s, holiday’s or a special occasion, Holgate Toys should definitely be on your list.  This is one of our favorite toy companies.  I’m confidant when Jack is playing with a Holgate toy, that I don’t have to worry about him being exposed to toxic chemicals.  They are simple and classic toys with plenty of room for creativity and learning.  They are the type of toys that will receive lots of play by your children and your grandchildren and maybe even your great grandchildren.  I first saw Holgate toys while shopping at Sprout Soup in Columbus.  I loved the look and quality of them so I researched the company online.  I found nothing but positive information about the company.  They are based out of Pennsylvania.  All of the toys are made form Penn wood.

All Holgate Toys meet or exceed ASTM F963-07 Toy Safety Standards and conform to the (CPSIA) Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008.  Find details on the safety testing of each toy here.  I have seen Holgate toys on several all-natural and green websites and several local stores.  Jack recently had an opportunity to test out a complementary Hickory Dickory Dock Clock donated by Holegate for the purpose of this review.  I love this toy because it offers education play and discovery with colors, numbers, shapes, and telling time.  It isn’t often you can find a all-in-one like that!

Jack, now 24 months really likes pointing out the colors and shapes.  He likes to put the blocks in the correct hole.  My only wish for this toy is that the holes for the blocks be deeper so he doesn’t knock them out as easily.  Overall it is a wonderful toy and so far has withstood the rough play of our 2 year old boy.

Holegate has graciously donated one of their educational wooden toys, Jumbo Lacing Beads for a Mom Going Green Reader.  This toy is great for practicing hand eye coordination and learning colors.
